Install the package.

Use Node.js 20 or newer. Install the official release directly from opensources.dev:

npm install -g https://opensources.dev/downloads/v8-advanced-prompt-0.1.0.tgz

After the npm registry release, this shorter command will also work:

npm install -g v8-advanced-prompt

Setup configures the shortcut for supported Claude Code and Codex terminal workflows and backs up the files it changes.

v8-prompt setup

Type your request, then press Ctrl + Shift + .. Review the advanced prompt before Enter. Press the shortcut again to restore the original.
